Henny and Joe Engagement Photo session
In the western tip of Montreal and on the shores of the Saint Laurent River, there is a small “bedroom community” called Baie-D’Urfe. A beautiful rural town, Baie-D’urfe is full of charming large homes built many years ago on spacious lots. In addition, large Oak trees that go back hundreds of years are everywhere provide ample spots for awesome photos. Like all West Island suburbs, Baie-D’urfe is full of charming spots for couples and engagement photo session. The location has art galleries, a couple of small cafés and a restaurant. That’s where we met one afternoon to have a couple of Lattes and get to know each other.
Henny and Joe really compliment each other. Henny is a red head with a matching personality. She is outgoing, talkative and always touches Joe with affection. Joe is the quieter of the two; he smiles a lot and seems to enjoy his fiancé’s physical closeness. It’s such a pleasure working with a couple that is so comfortable with each other. There is not much I have to do besides encourage them to talk and engage. I just click the shutter. From viewing the engagement photos one might think that I asked them to hug each other all the time. The truth is, they were always hugging and talking. I did not have to say smile, hug, kiss or any of those awful ways to get a couple to engage. A pleasure.
What to wear
When it comes to what to wear, the most important factor to consider is your comfort. If you dress according to the location and the weather at the time, you two will be cozy and relaxed and the results will be a pleasant and enjoyable session.
A typical session takes around two hours. Chances are you will be moving a lot and find yourself sitting on different surfaces. Photos look so much better when clothing are cozy and relaxed so choose something you can move in effortlessly. Tight clothes, very short skirts and high heels are great for a short period of time or if you are really used to them. If you want photos in classy high stilettos make sure to also bring with you comfy flat shoes when just walking from place to place.
